Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH) will host its annual 5K Scrub Run and community health festival on Saturday, May 18.

The family-friendly event will kick off at 8 a.m. with the 5K run and walk. The 100-yard dash for children 10 and under will start at 9 a.m.

"Our annual 5K and health festival have become an incredible tradition of fun and fitness in Johns Creek," says Marilyn Margolis, CEO of EJCH.

"We encourage community members to attend this event to get free health screenings, know their health status and meet with our physicians and clinicians," says Margolis.

Free health screenings will be offered at the health festival including: cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) calculations. The event will also feature a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Leadership Johns Creek’s project for a new adaptive vehicle at EJCH. This project will help people with mild cognitive impairments, injuries and disabilities drive
safely.

An awards ceremony and raffle will take place after race participants finish the course. Attendees can also enjoy face painting for children, a bouncy house, free food, music and access to dozens of community vendors.
