Emory to launch national search for new university Title IX coordinator

Supria Kuppuswamy has stepped down from her position as university Title IX coordinator effective Friday, March 29.  The university Title IX coordinator oversees the university’s responses, obligations and responsibilities to Title IX complaints, including dating violence and stalking; and identifies and addresses patterns and systemic problems.

The position is responsible for developing and delivering university-wide training programs and works collaboratively with the Office of Campus Life, the Office of the General Counsel, the Emory Police Department, the Office of Counseling and Advocacy, various deans’ offices, Human Resources and the Offices of the Provost and President.

A national search will be launched immediately to identify a new university Title IX coordinator.  Effective April 1, Judith Pannell, EdD, will serve as interim university Title IX coordinator and Kristy Seidenberg, JD, will serve as interim Title IX coordinator for students.

“We wish Supria the very best as she departs Emory and thank both Judith Pannell and Kristy Seidenberg for working continuously to serve our university community during this transition,” says Lynell A. Cadray, Emory’s vice provost for equity and inclusion.
