Emory to host annual 5K and offer free health screenings in Johns Creek

Emory Johns Creek Hospital will host its annual 5K Scrub Run/Walk and provide free health screenings to the public on Saturday, May 19. The run and walk kicks off at 8 a.m. and children 10 and under can participate in a 100-yard dash at 9 a.m.

"We’re excited to offer health and wellness education to our community and encourage runners and walkers of all levels to join us at our annual 5K," says Marilyn Margolis, CEO of Emory Johns
Creek Hospital. "Our clinicians will be on hand for casual consults and attendees can learn about our technology and health services available right here in their own backyard."

Free health screenings will be offered at the health festival including: cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) calculations. Race participants and attendees will also get a chance to learn about robotic surgery during a demonstration of the da Vinci® Surgical System. The family-friendly event will feature face painting for children, a bouncy house, free food, music, access to several community vendors, an awards ceremony and a raffle.

Register for the race on active.com. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Chattahoochee High School Cross Country Team and the Emory Johns Creek Hospital Foundation.
