Employee Council Town Hall is April 12

Emory’s annual Employee Council Town Hall will be Tuesday, April 12, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Winship Ballroom of the Dobbs University Center (DUC).

The event provides an open forum for Emory faculty and staff to present questions about campus issues to top University and Emory Healthcare administrators. Lunch will be served, and questions may also be submitted in advance through April 8.

This year will mark the final Employee Council Town Hall with Emory President James Wagner, who has announced plans to step down at the end of August.

In addition to Wagner, panelists will include:

·      Claire Sterk, provost and executive vice president of academic affairs

·      Michael Mandl, executive vice president for business and administration and senior strategist for business initiatives

·      Jonathan Lewin, executive vice president of health affairs

·      Suzanne Onorato, assistant vice president of community

The Employee Council was established to facilitate communication between Emory employees and the University administration and serves as an advisory body to the president.

The town hall is intended to invite conversation about topics such as transportation and parking, health care and other employee benefits, workplace and work-life issues, campus safety, and other University initiatives.

For the first time, Emory employees who are unable to attend will have an opportunity to follow a live stream of the event on YouTube.

Employees who have a YouTube account may submit questions during the live stream, which will be reviewed by a moderator and presented to the panelists on a first-come basis.
