“Rejuvenate Your Recovery for The New Year,” a workshop for those in active recovery from alcohol and other substances, is being offered by the Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) on Friday, Jan. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1762 Clifton Road.
“In this workshop, you will learn about complacency, which often involves becoming stuck in a rut and missing opportunities to take positive action in your life,” says Jad Tompkins, who is co-leading the workshop. “Unchecked, this can lead to relapse into substances or other unsatisfying trends.”
“To counteract this, you will gain insight on how to proactively respond to even the sneakiest of relapse warning signs, as well as recognizing when complacency may be a sign of something else,” says Tompkins, an FSAP clinician.
The workshop will help participants discover how to turn this common obstacle into an opportunity to be more engaged and committed to recovery.
This workshop is part of a series of free, confidential, interactive offerings open to Emory University and Emory Healthcare faculty and staff members, providing opportunities to connect with fellow employees in recovery and strengthen relapse prevention skills throughout the year.
