Emory University and Emory Healthcare faculty and staff members who are in active recovery from alcohol and other substances can take advantage of a series of quarterly workshops beginning July 24.
These free, confidential, interactive workshops will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Suite 1100, 1762 Clifton Road, at the Emory Faculty Staff Assistance Program offices.
The workshops, part of the Emory FSAP Quarterly Recovery Support Series, give participants an opportunity to connect with fellow employees in recovery and strengthen relapse prevention skills throughout the year.
Upcoming sessions are as follows:
- "Stay Cool in Recovery When Your Emotions Heat Up" on July 24 shows participants how to respond calmly and effectively to challenging people, places and circumstances.
- "Safeguard Your Recovery During the Holidays" on Oct. 30 shows how to enhance serenity during an often emotionally demanding season that can involve stressful family and social gatherings, grief or other challenges.
- "Rejuvenate Your Recovery for The New Year" on Jan. 29, 2016, reveals new ways to be proactive in recovery.
- "Recovery Reunion" on April 29, 2016, is a gathering offered to faculty and staff who have previously participated in Emory recovery-related events to discuss a variety of topics.
Space is limited. To register or learn more about this series of workshops, call 404-727-4328 or email efsap@emory.edu
