Sign up by Monday, June 22, to attend the Elder Care Fair sponsored by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, to be held Tuesday, June 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CDC’s Chamblee Campus, 4770 Buford Highway.
The CDC’s Work-Life Programs has extended an invitation to Emory employees to utilize this resource. Advance registration is mandatory, however, due to security restrictions to enter the CDC campus.
To register or for questions, contact Mary Ellen Nessmith of the Emory WorkLife Resource Center at 404-727-4177.
“This fair has been held in the past and is an excellent resource for those interested in learning more about the various resources and types of services available to help with caregiving responsibilities and/or planning for one’s own long-term care,” Nessmith says.
A variety of venders and organizations will be at the fair and professionals will be available to answer questions about resources including assisted living, relocation, adult day care, transportation and more.
When registering, indicate if you will attend one of the breakout sessions to be held between 10:30 a.m. and 1:25 p.m. These sessions include “Making Home Accessible,” “Services for Low-Income Seniors,” “Geriatric Managers: How They Can Help” and “Assisting Living or Nursing Home.”
BrownRichards & Associates, which works with Emory employees through the WorkLife Resource Center, will also be onsite and available to help Emory employees with dependent care referrals.
