University Senate committees seek applications by April 30

Emory faculty, staff and students interested in taking a role in university governance during the 2015-2016 academic year are invited to apply for appointment to the University Senate’s roster of service committees.

Committees meet periodically during the academic year and help address issues relevant to the mission of the Senate, which considers and make recommendations on a wide-range of university issues.

Service committee opportunities are available in the following areas:

Those seeking to serve on one of these committees during the upcoming academic year should send a resume and brief statement of interest to Senate Assistant Jordan Stewart-Rozema at (j.m.stewart-rozema@emory.edu) by Thursday, April 30. Current University Senate committee members need not re-apply.

The Emory University Senate and Faculty Council are also inviting applications for a student assistant. Primary tasks include scheduling, logistics and communications, including keeping Faculty Council meeting minutes and handling basic website updates.

Top candidates will be detail-oriented and organized with strong research and writing skills who can navigate administrative structures. The position requires a commitment of 14 to 16 hours a week with mandatory availability on Tuesday afternoons.
