Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing professors Elizabeth Corwin, PhD, RN, and Bonnie Jennings, PhD, RN, will be honored during the Southern Nursing Research Society’s 29th Annual Conference in Tampa, Florida.
Corwin, who is the associate dean for research, will receive the Distinguished Researcher Award in recognition of her research contributions that have enhanced the science and practice of nursing by exposing biological mechanisms contributing to adverse perinatal outcomes including preterm birth and post-partum depression and fatigue.
Jennings will receive the inaugural Research in Nursing & Health Authorship Award that recognizes nurses who published significant research findings in the official SNRS journal. Her nationally acclaimed article, "Turning Over Patient Turnover: An Ethnographic Study of Admissions Discharges, and Transfers," was nominated for the award.
