Eagle Convenience and Subs, a new convenience store and made-to-order sandwich station located in the space formerly occupied by the faculty dining room on the first floor of Dobbs University Center (DUC), is now open for business.

Open until midnight seven days a week, the Eagle Convenience features a wide variety of food and convenience items, including organic and regular canned and packaged foods, ready-to-eat refrigerated foods, snack foods, beverages, frozen meals and desserts, fresh dairy products, paper goods, health and beauty items, and spirit wear. The store opens at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Eagle Subs, which features H&F Bread Company breads and Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, is open from 11 a.m. until midnight seven days a week.

"Students were very clear that they wanted the option of a convenience store in the center of campus and that they wanted weekend and late-night hours," says David Furhman, senior director of Emory Campus Dining Services. "The inventory is based on what students have said they wanted. We are also able to offer items here — such as organic items and items containing nuts and tree nuts — that we are not able to offer in our dining facilities because of allergy concerns and cost."

Students can suggest items for the store to carry by writing them down at the store’s front counter.

"We will continually update our inventory based on what students say they want," Furhman says.
