Emory celebrates Family Weekend with events Oct. 24-26

Emory's annual Family Weekend brings an influx of parents and other family members to campus Oct. 24-26 for a full schedule of educational, social and cultural events, including a reception with Emory President James Wagner.

Wagner will give an update and light refreshments will be served at a reception from 5-6 p.m. Friday at Cox Hall.

Family Weekend events officially get underway at 11 a.m. Friday with DUCtoberfest, one of several festival-style events during the weekend. Families can also gather for Wonderful Wednesday presents "Family Friday" from 2-5 p.m. in Asbury Circle and the 34th Annual Family Weekend Picnic and Best of Emory Live from 12-2 p.m. Saturday on McDonough Field.

Saturday's schedule also includes the 9th Legacy Brunch and Pinning Ceremony, an invitation-only event from 9-11 a.m. at Miller-Ward Alumni House for Emory legacy students who have a parent, grandparent or sibling who graduated from Emory.

Other weekend events include educational sessions on topics including the Career Center, study abroad programs, wellness resources, BBA admissions, and more. Emory faculty will also offer "master classes" on subjects such as "living the good life," entrepreneurship, and forensic nursing, among others.
