Winners of the March 2014 Building Recycling Competition have been announced. They are Dobbs University Center (DUC) and Eagle Row fraternity houses.
During March, the DUC increased its recycling by 4,135 pounds from March 2013. The DUC will receive a $3,000 award.
Eagle Row fraternity houses, whose effort to become more sustainable, is described as "outstanding," will be awarded a special second prize. Known for being "waste challenged," Eagle Row, increased its recycling rate by 3,556 pounds for the month of March over last March. These efforts of the fraternities will be awarded a special second prize of $1,500 to spend on recycling equipment.
Yerkes National Primate Research Center came in at third with an increase of 3,454 pound and the Cherry L. Emerson Chemistry Center was fourth with an increase of 2,795 pounds.
