The Emory Art Gala, an evening of music, food, drinks, and art from the Emory campus and Atlanta community, is Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in the School of Medicine.
“Artreach” is the theme of this year’s event. "Through this theme, we are hoping to highlight the incredible ways in which Emory students, doctors, nurses, and staff engage the Atlanta area, especially Atlanta’s medically underserved populations," says John A. Wells IV, medical student and an organizer of the gala. "In addition to celebrating art and creativity, the Art Gala is a way to give back and say ‘thank you’ for medical service in our community."
Live music, food, drinks, and a wide range of art to view and purchase will be on display. There will also be a silent auction.
While the purchase of tickets isn't required, a minimum $20 donation is requested at the door to support the Emory Class of 2017 and student groups, including the student-run clinics.
"The gala promotes the arts and highlights artistic expression as an essential component of health and humanity," Wells notes.
Attire is semi-formal or business casual.
