Faculty members can discuss book projects with an editor and an agent as part of the Scholarly Writing and Publishing project of the Center for Faculty Development and Excellence.
The event begins with a Meet the Editor & Agent public discussion on Tuesday, April 8, at 4 p.m. in the Jones Room of the Woodruff Library.
Cecelia Cancellaro of Idea Architects - Creative Book and Media Development Agency and Robert Dreesen, senior commissioning editor in politics and sociology at Cambridge University Press, will be expert guests. A question and answer session will follow the discussion.
On Wednesday, April 9, faculty authors will have opportunities to meet one-on-one with Cancellaro and Dreesen.
Those interested in a meeting should submit a short summary or abstract of their book project, two pages maximum, to Allison Adams by Wednesday, March 26. Brief biographical information and contact information should also be included.
"These appointment requests are first come, first served, so please be sure to request your appointment early," Adams says.
This annual event brings experts in publishing to campus to discuss trends and expectations for faculty authors in the current environment of scholarly publishing, including the growth and development of digital media projects.
