CFDE mini grants enhance teaching opportunities

The Center for Faculty Development and Excellence has awarded 31 classroom mini-grants for the Spring 2014 semester — $8,920 in financial support that will be used across a variety of disciplines to support teaching activities not covered by regular departmental funds.

The grants of up to $300 each will support teaching in both the sciences and the humanities, helping to underwrite classroom activities that range from the purchase of special laboratory equipment that will allow Emory students to collect and study their own stress hormones and a "surgical dummy” that allows the simulation of sight-saving surgery to underwriting special guest speakers.
