Changes to Emory's shuttles, routes and names are coming Nov. 1, according to Transportation and Parking Services' Alice P. Sloan. These adjustments follow the improvements to the Woodruff Circle transit hub, which are near completion.
The alignment with Woodruff Circle to Uppergate Drive, which runs between the Winship Cancer Institute and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, is completed and a new traffic signal has been installed at Clifton Road.
The Cliff shuttles will now enter Woodruff Circle at the new Uppergate Drive traffic signal, and some shuttles' new routes will involve service on Uppergate Drive instead of Lowergate Drive. There will be no shuttle service on Lowergate Drive.
Woodruff Circle is still an active construction site and usual walking routes may still be impeded. Transportation and Parking Services urges those in or passing through the area be alert to activity and posted signage.
Shuttle routes
The following changes are coming for the shuttles:
• A new route, the 1525-VA route, will connect the residents of the Clairmont campus to the Student Health Center at 1525 Clifton Road and connect Emory Healthcare staff to the VA Medical Center.
• The Clairmont-Peavine route will become "The Loop," connecting the Clairmont campus, main campus and Peavine decks to Woodruff Circle Transit Hub. Service hours are Monday-Friday, 5 a.m.-8 p.m. The route moves from Lowergate to Gambrell.
• After 3:30 p.m., the D route will become the D Express (DX and will run between Woodruff Circle and the Peavine decks via Eagle Row. The regular D route will operate until 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, then the DX will take over the Woodruff to Peavine service until 8 p.m. Riders on Fishburne and Dowman will use the Loop route to reach the Peavine Deck after 3:30 p.m.
• The C route returns to being known by that name, having been the C Express for the summer. C route connects the Starvine deck at Clairmont campus to Woodruff Circle via Uppergate Drive. There will be no shuttle service to Lowergate Drive, going instead to Gambrell.
The E route, M route and C route will no longer serve stops on Lowergate or Clifton Road. These routes will serve stops on Uppergate or Gambrell. The EUHM (Midtown) route will move to Uppergate.
CCTMA and both Park-and-Ride shuttles returned to their original routes Oct. 15. These routes are back to turning onto and continuing on North Decatur Road to Clifton Road to approach the campus.

Follow TPS on Twitter
TPS now has a Twitter account, @TPSinTouch. "At present I'm tweeting and retweeting morning and afternoon traffic alerts primarily," says Sloan. "We'll use the Twitter feed for traffic updates, campus events, other items of interest as we grow our list of 'followers' and 'followees,' but it will be great to have shuttle delays, parking info, neighborhood traffic alerts and updates in mostly real time."
A Facebook page is also in the works.
