Emory Mobile app updated for Android devices

Emory Report | April 23, 2012

An updated version of the Emory Mobile app is now available for Android devices in the Android store. With the new version of Emory Mobile, which was originally released for iOS and Blackberry devices in August 2011, users can:

• View Emory shuttles on their routes in real time

• Search for friends and make new connections with the alumni directory

• Get quick access to key emergency phone numbers

• Take one of five campus tours

• View Emory's academic course catalog.

People who have previously downloaded Emory Mobile on their Android devices will receive a notice to install the new version.

These enhancements build on the Emory Mobile smartphone apps suite, launched in August 2010, that includes news, maps, athletics, event listings, the library catalog, Emory's YouTube channel and the campus directory. Emory's Office of Information Technology and the Office of Communications and Marketing work with Blackboard Mobile, a division of Blackboard Inc., to offer the app.
