Get the jump on swimming in this unusually warm weather at the Student Activity and Academic Center's outdoor pool on the Clairmont Campus.

The pool opens for the season April 1 until Nov. 1. It is heated during the first and last months to maintain the requisite minimum 78 degrees.

Discounted memberships are available for Emory faculty and staff, says Timber Hines, SAAC associate director. "An individual membership gives you eight months of summer fun for only $235 — only $30 a month," she says.

Family memberships, which include a spouse/registered partner and up to four dependents (or three dependents and a caretaker), are $355. Dependents are considered up to age 26, making "the SAAC is a great option for families with college students," Hines notes.

Parking for the Clairmont Campus is free at the Starvine deck starting at 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends and University holidays. "Emory Transportation Services also offers several solutions for faculty and staff interested in parking at the Starvine deck to use our facilities during other hours," Hines says.

"In addition to our pool, we have clay and hard tennis courts, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, sand volleyball, and exercise facilities," she points out.
