As the November midterms approach, Emory faculty, staff and students are invited to take a closer look at the races, issues and forces shaping this year’s election. “What’s at Stake in the 2026 Midterms” will be held Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m. in Convocation Hall. Registration is needed.

Moderated by journalist Tia Mitchell of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the free forum will explore key races and issues; voter engagement and turnout; what to watch leading into Election Day; and the broader political and social forces influencing this election cycle.

A panel of Emory experts will share their insights:

  • Alan Abramowitz, professor (emeritus) of political science
  • Zachary Peskowitz, associate professor of political science at Emory College of Arts and Sciences
  • Nichole Phillips, associate professor at Candler School of Theology
  • Edward Queen, director of the Emory Center for Ethics

The conversation will be followed by an audience Q&A.
