From March 17-19, Emory will celebrate Integrity Week with opportunities for students, faculty and staff to engage in conversations and activities grounded in integrity, ethical decision-making and shared community values.
Through workshops, tabling activities and collaborative programming, the week will explore how integrity shapes learning, research, leadership and life across the university.
Created in 2018 by Emory’s Office of Community Standards and Education (OCSE) to promote awareness of community standards and ethical engagement, this is the first time it has returned since 2020.
“We are revitalizing Integrity Week, reintroducing the Emory community to our office, and rebuilding a strong foundation that will sustain and grow this initiative for years to come,” says Victor Lopez, OCSE director.
For Stephanie Santiago, OCSE assistant director, Integrity Week offers benefits for every member of the campus community.
“Students will have opportunities to strengthen their understanding of integrity, ethical decision-making and personal responsibility, while reflecting on their core values,” Santiago says. “Integrity Week allows faculty and staff to connect with students in meaningful ways, strengthen relationships and build trust across the community.”
Integrity is a shared responsibility, and a culture of integrity builds trust and respect throughout the community, according to Lopez.
“Each member of the community contributes to a culture built on honesty, accountability and ethical behavior,” he says. “When we commit to those shared values, we strengthen trust and create a more supportive environment where everyone can thrive.”
All members of the university community can enjoy food, gain a chance to win prizes and connect with other students, faculty and staff during the week’s activities.
