Clifton Road area to shut down as bridge goes up

Clifton Road will be closed between Uppergate Drive, across from at the Woodruff Bus Circle, and Gambrell Drive, starting the evening of Friday, July 22 and continuing over the weekend through Sunday, July 24.

The closure is due to the installation of the frame for the new pedestrian bridge over Clifton Road. This bridge will connect Emory University Hospital with the hospital bed tower under construction across Clifton.

Traffic will be impacted in the following ways:

• Vehicles will be rerouted via detour signs to avoid the work zone.

• Pedestrian access will be closed in the work zone.

• Bus service will continue on Clifton Road, but will be diverted around the work zone. See changes to stops and routes at http://emory.transloc.com/.

• Emergency access to the ERs of both Emory Healthcare and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will remain open.

This work is weather dependent and subject to change; if there are changes, Emory will provide updates.

See www.cliftonstreetscape.com for updates.
