New ways to live with grief to be discussed

A discussion about how to live with the shifts of grief and life will be Thursday, April 16, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in 201 Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

“Living with Grief: Holding On and Letting Go” will be facilitated by Lesley Brogan, who is a hospice bereavement counselor.

Brogan will use her book “Relying on the Moon: Companioning Grief for 29 Days” to show attendees new ways to think of their grief. Using the moon and its phases as a guide for discussion, she will also talk about ways to live with the shifts of grief and life.

Those who are caregivers for adult loved ones often experience loss through changes in their physical and/or emotional health, changes in personal routines, and the death of the loved one.

Illustrating with everyday experiences, Brogan will lead a conversation about healthy holding on and letting go.
