Campus car-sharing program switches gears
Emory is replacing the ZipCar car-sharing program with one from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in a partnership between Transportation and Parking Services (TPS) and Enterprise.

The cars from the new service will be similar in type and located in the same locations as the ones currently supplied by ZipCar.

"Emory’s Enterprise CarShare members will get the reduced rate on campus as well as the Enterprise Offices at the Emory Conference Center Hotel and at the Decatur branch on Ponce de Leon, the one near the DeKalb Farmer’s Market," says Alice P. Sloan of TPS.

The promo rate, according to Sloan, is $10 to join, $5 an hour and $10 in driving credits, thru Oct. 31. "After that, it's $15 to enroll and $5.50 per hour to use," she adds.

"The partnership with Enterprise CarShare continues our commitment to providing students, employees and departments with an alternate method of transportation to go where they want, when they want," says Sloan.

Emory employees and students who are members of ZipCar should have already received an email regarding their membership and the changeover to Enterprise.
