After a difficult loss in the presidential election, some within the Republican Party are calling for reform. However, Emory University political scientist Merle Black says that won't come easy as the Republicans continue to grow stronger in the South.
Black is a renowned expert on national politics and the foremost authority on politics in the South. One of the nation's most incisive political  commentators, Black is coauthor of "Divided America: The Ferocious Power Struggle in American Politics" and "The Rise of Southern Republicans," among other books that help explain the country's distinct regional differences to assess the driving forces of partisanship in national politics.
