Every year, 1,100 college students commit suicide. It's between the second and third leading cause of death among college students. Send Silence Packing is a traveling exhibit by the group Active Minds raising awareness about mental health issues and the impact of suicide. It features 1,100 backpacks donated by the families of loved ones who took their own lives with hundreds accompanied by the story of that student's life and death. Recently, the group showed the display at Emory University.
