The potential impact of health care reform is the topic for this year's Future Makers Lecture on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 5 p.m. in the Woodruff Health Sciences Center Auditorium.
In a speech entitled, "Looking Out, Looking In, Looking Forward," Steven H. Lipstein, president and chief executive officer of BJC Healthcare and an Emory alumnus, will give his his ideas on the potential implications of health care reform for medical professionals, nurses, employers, physicians and others.
At BJC Healthcare, Lipstein oversees a 13-hospital health care organization, with annual net revenues of $3.5 billion and more than 26,000 employees in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and mid-Missouri regions.
The event is free and open to the public, with a reception afterward. RSVPs to Michelle Boone are requested.
Lipstein's talk is part of the Future Makers Lecture Series, sponsored by the Woodruff Health Sciences Center and supported by the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center Fund, Inc. The series brings to campus people of vision in science, health care, business, government, the arts, and other fields relevant to the future of Emory's clinical, teaching and research missions.
