COMMUNITY Praise House Project to install public art honoring African American history Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, a partnership between Emory Arts and artist-activist Charmaine Minniefield will place three praise houses in metro Atlanta to uplift the African American history of those communities. ACCOMPLISHMENT Emory ranks among top universities by Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education Emory University ranked 20th out of 796 U.S. universities according to the 2022 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings, published Sept. 21. REFLECTION Twin Memorials Working Group gets underway The report of the Task Force on Untold Stories and Disenfranchised Populations calls for establishing memorials on the Atlanta and Oxford campuses honoring enslaved laborers. The Twin Memorials Working Group has formed to pursue that goal. OPPORTUNITY Don't miss 'In the Wake of Slavery and Dispossession' symposium There’s still time to be part of the symposium “In the Wake of Slavery and Dispossession: Emory, Racism, and the Journey Towards Restorative Justice,” Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. Register to attend or help as a volunteer. CAMPUS Carlos Museum exhibition to feature work of leading Indigenous contemporary artists “Each/Other,” opening at the Carlos Museum on Sept. 25, is the first exhibition to feature together the work of Indigenous contemporary artists Marie Watt and Cannupa Hanska Luger. Members of the Emory community contributed items for some of the works.

COLLABORATION Best of both worlds: Engineering meets medicine For more than 20 years, students and researchers at Emory and Georgia Tech have been blazing new trails together at the intersection of medicine and engineering. RESOURCES Double booked: A shared library archive The Georgia Tech Library and Emory University Libraries together operate a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled service facility known as the Library Service Center, expanding resources to faculty, staff and students from both campuses. IMPACT Tag-team efforts: Emory-Georgia Tech joint programs These collaborations between Emory and Georgia Tech prove that faculty and students from both universities, working together, are a winning combination.
