Emory renames center Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, enters next phase of research
Emory has renamed its Alzheimer's Disease Research Center the Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center in recognition of the Goizueta Foundation's ongoing support toward developing treatment for the disease.

 

TRANSIT
Community encouraged to take MARTA survey to advocate for Clifton Corridor
The Clifton Corridor Transit Initiative would bring four miles of light rail to the Emory area, improving access, reducing traffic and contributing to a healthier environment. MARTA is seeking feedback on proposed projects through an online survey until Friday, Aug. 31.

 

RESEARCH
Neuroscientists team with engineers to explore how the brain controls movement
Through a collaboration with Georgia Tech engineering professor Muhannad Bakir, Emory biology professor Samuel Sober recently received a $200,000 award to create a device that will be used to potentially gain insights into neurological disorders that affect motor control.

A diverse slate of Emory faculty, staff and student authors will take the stage this weekend at the 2018 AJC Decatur Book Festival, set for Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 at multiple venues.
