INSPIRATION Emory nursing student shares her 'Second Act' with Jennifer Lopez Nursing student Kimberly Gardner appeared on "Good Morning America" last month for a surprise meeting with Jennifer Lopez after writing to the mega-star about her own "Second Act," which took her from college dropout to pursuing accelerated nursing degrees at Emory. IMPACT Emory's support for lower-income students highlighted in new report A new report by a nationwide alliance of leading colleges and universities highlights Emory University's efforts to improve opportunity for low- and moderate-income students. COMMUNITY Emory purchases Peachtree Street property to increase academic presence in Atlanta Central Atlanta Progress and Emory University jointly announce the sale of 477 Peachtree St. to the university, effective Dec. 21, 2018. The property will make Emory's resources more accessible to the greater Atlanta community. SUPPORT Longtime friendship now funds Emory students with Korean roots A scholarship endowed by Bradley N. Currey Jr., former chair of Emory's Board of Trustees, in honor of Emory President Emeritus James T. Laney supports Emory College students with financial need. Recipients are Korean, Korean American or interested in Korean or East Asian cultures.
