Ted Johnson
Ted Johnson received his MD from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Geriatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Johnson attained his MPH at the University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health.
Dr. Johnson is a Professor of Medicine within the Emory School of Medicine and holds secondary appointments as Professor in Family Medicine, Nursing, and Epidemiology. Dr. Johnson’s directorships include: Director of the Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics at Emory; Director of the Woodruff Health Sciences Center for Health in Aging; and Program Director of Georgia Gear, a Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program.
Dr. Johnson is the recipient of several federal and VA peer-reviewed grants and sees patients needing specialty care for lower urinary tract disorders at the Atlanta VA Medical Center in Decatur, GA, and is a supporting physician for the nurse-practitioner led integrated memory care clinic, which is a primary care clinic for patients living with dementia and their families. Dr. Johnson is particularly concerned with understanding the functional capacity and quality-of-life experiences of persons as they age, to include building better communities that are safer for and more attentive to the needs of older adults.
