Experts weigh in on the antiviral pill for COVID-19
With the pandemic having claimed more than five million lives and much of the world still unvaccinated, an oral treatment for COVID-19 could potentially be a game changer. Molnupiravir, invented and developed by scientists at Emory University, was recently approved by Britain to treat at-risk patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is evaluating molnupiravir for emergency use authorization (EUA).
Below we capture what some experts outside Emory said about molnupiravir after it was announced that its manufacturers would apply for EUA.
