The legacy of President Jimmy Carter |
|
This week, we’re looking back on the enduring legacy of President Jimmy Carter, who served as Emory University Distinguished Professor for more than 40 years and founded The Carter Center in collaboration with the university. On Oct. 1, what would have been President Carter’s 101st birthday, The Carter Center hosts the U.S. Postal Service for a first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony for a new Forever stamp design paying tribute to the 39th president (register to attend the ceremony). “The President and The Dragon,” an independent documentary chronicling his decades-long fight to eradicate Guinea worm, also debuts that day on several on-demand platforms, including Amazon.
