Tyler Perry to deliver Emory Commencement address
World-renowned cinematic innovator Tyler Perry will deliver Emory University’s 2022 Commencement address and receive an honorary degree. The event is set for May 9 on the Emory Quadrangle.

Emory named top producer of student Fulbright winners
For the sixth consecutive year, the U.S. State Department has named Emory a top producer of Fulbright winners. In the past decade, 119 Emory students have won the Fulbright, the government’s flagship international exchange program.

 

RESEARCH
Snail competition leads to fewer parasites that cause schistosomiasis
A new study led by Emory researchers shows that schistosome transmission can be highest when freshwater snail populations are low. The study is the first to demonstrate how the size of a freshwater snail population relates to its parasitic infection rate.

Yale University expert to discuss Russia and Ukraine
Join an online lecture from Timothy Snyder of Yale University on “Russia and Ukraine: The Origins of the Crisis” on March 2 at 1 p.m. Snyder is the Richard C. Levin Professor of History at Yale and author of ten books on Russian and Ukrainian history. A discussion by Emory’s Russian and East European Studies faculty will follow. Learn more.
