IMPACT Senate confirms Emory experts to serve on Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board Gabrielle Dudley and Hank Klibanoff are two of the first members of the Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board, which will examine government records of unpunished, racially motivated murders of Black Americans from 1940 to 1980. RESEARCH Antibiotic used on food crops affects bumblebee behavior, lab study finds An antibiotic sprayed on orchard crops to combat bacterial diseases slows the cognition of bumblebees and reduces their foraging efficiency, a laboratory study finds. Proceedings of the Royal Society B published the findings by scientists at Emory University and the University of Washington. RESOURCES Emory’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center establishes Office of Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice The Office of Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice will foster collaboration among teams working across education, research and clinical care to treat and prevent disease. COMMUNITY Emory partners to open doors for Latinx youth Emory and the Latin American Association have collaborated for more than two decades to inspire Latinx students to embrace higher education. This year’s Latino Youth Leadership Conference kicks off on Feb. 28. INNOVATION Goizueta Business School launches Online Executive MBA Program To meet the varying needs of ambitious professionals, Goizueta Business School is introducing a new online format of its Executive MBA Program. The first cohort begins in fall 2022. CAMPUS Northlake COVID-19 testing location closing Feb. 26 Due to improving conditions and the recent decline in COVID-19 cases, Emory Healthcare’s COVID-19 testing location at Northlake Mall closes Feb. 26. Faculty, staff and students experiencing symptoms are encouraged to schedule a COVID-19 test at an off-campus location. EVENTS Poet Marilyn Chin to give virtual reading for Women's History Month Award-winning activist poet Marilyn Chin brings her versatile work — by turns playful, sorrowful, passionate, humorous and more — to Emory in a virtual reading on March 13.
