Emory students help Atlanta communities have ‘Faith in the Vaccine’
Through a six-month internship program, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent alumni, are working to cultivate trust within diverse communities to lessen COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.

Lewin to step down from leadership of Woodruff Health Sciences Center and Emory Healthcare
Since 2016, Jonathan S. Lewin has led record-breaking growth in clinical volumes, research funding and patient quality outcomes. He will become a member of the Emory faculty after a new executive vice president for health affairs joins the university.

Emory receives $6 million grant to accelerate Parkinson’s disease treatment research
Emory researchers received a three-year, $6.3 million grant from the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s Collaborative Research Network for research into the motor cortical disturbances caused by Parkinson’s disease, which affects more than 6 million people worldwide.

Faulkner to serve as Emory University chief compliance officer
On Nov. 15, Kenya Faulkner took the helm of Emory’s Office of Compliance, which provides leadership and oversight for all university compliance activities and adheres to the highest legal, professional and ethical standards.

 

SUSTAINABILITY
Emory selects Goodr as new waste management provider
Emory has partnered with waste management and hunger relief company Goodr as its holistic waste management provider to help achieve the university’s zero landfill waste goal. The partnership has already diverted nearly 140,000 pounds of food waste from landfills.

Emory commemorates Veterans Day
The American flag waved against a pale gray fall sky as the Emory community gathered Nov. 11 on the Quad to commemorate Veterans Day. After the ceremony, students, faculty, staff and alumni who are veterans posed for group photo.
