LEGACY Ambassador Andrew Young encourages students to ‘get smart’ at Carter Town Hall Emory University hosted the 40th annual Carter Town Hall on Dec. 2, inviting first-year students to ask former United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young some of the most pressing questions of our time. ENVIRONMENT Sustainability grants fund innovative projects across campus Winners of the most recent round of sustainability grants will put their funds toward a variety of green initiatives across campus, including creating habitats for pollinators and educating about the value of pollinators to local ecosystems. IMPACT National Academy of Inventors names Bellamkonda, Cooper as 2021 fellows Emory Provost Ravi Bellamkonda, a biomedical engineer, and groundbreaking immunologist Max Cooper have been named 2021 fellows of the National Academy of Inventors. RECOGNITION Feast of Words celebrates new books by Emory faculty Emory’s annual celebration of books by faculty authors and editors is now online. Each pairing will give a short presentation of artistic projects their class created this semester and engage in a conversation about the profound impact of this work on Emory students and the community at large.
