CREATIVITY Online showcase to share work from Arts and Social Justice Fellows program Six Atlanta artists came into Emory classrooms this semester, working with faculty to help students translate their learning into creative action and activism in the name of social justice. Experts weigh in on swing-state status With all eyes on the upcoming U.S. Senate runoffs, Emory College Dean Michael A. Elliott hosted a panel discussion examining Georgia’s new swing-state status and future role in American politics from business, marketing and political perspectives. RESEARCH Militarizing police does not reduce crime, new Emory data analysis finds Utilizing military surplus equipment for local law enforcement has little impact on crime, according to a new study by a political science team at Emory’s Politics of Policing Lab. ACCOMPLISHMENT Emory selects first members of Class of 2025 In December, 769 students were admitted to Emory College, Oxford College or both. These outstanding Early Decision I applicants join 56 students who matched to Emory through QuestBridge, which links talented low-income scholars with leading universities, to start the Class of 2025.
