EVENTS Dooley's Week features indie-pop artists AJR, also Mikey Day from SNL Dooley's Week, Emory's annual celebration of school spirit, is April 8-14. This year's theme is Dooley in Vegas, with special events, activities and giveaways scheduled all week. ACHIEVEMENT Sustainability Innovator Awards celebrate students, faculty and staff Emory's Office of Sustainability Initiatives has announced this year's winners of the Robert B. Hascall Sustainability Innovator Awards, which honor the legacy of the late Bob Hascall, who led Campus Services until 2010. HEALTH 'Your Fantastic Mind' TV series returns to explore how migraines differ from headaches As Emory and Georgia Public Broadcasting's "Your Fantastic Mind" returns with the second half of the first season, discover how migraines differ from headaches, some common triggers and how a "numbing" treatment helped a college soccer player. EVENTS April: 10 things to do for under $10 With spring in full swing, head outside to celebrate National Jazz Appreciation Month with two nights of Jazz on the Green, part of a full slate of campus events for April. HONORS Emory professor, novelist Tayari Jones wins NAACP Image Award Tayari Jones, professor of English and creative writing at Emory, has been honored with the NAACP Image Award for fiction for her acclaimed novel "An American Marriage." INSIGHT Emory Global Health Institute marks 10th anniversary of annual case competition The Emory Global Health Institute recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its annual International Emory Global Health Case Competition by hosting 30 university teams charged with developing hurricane preparedness strategies for multiple countries. INTERNATIONAL Emory University launches global Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning program The culmination of two decades of collaboration between Emory and the Dalai Lama's institutions, SEE (Social, Ethical and Emotional) Learning provides educators with a compassion-based ethics curriculum for K-12 and other students.
