Here in the Woodruff Health Sciences Center (WHSC), including Emory Healthcare, we recognize that health care, research, and education, while critically important and deeply rewarding, can be demanding careers. That’s why I’m proud to announce that we have established the WHSC Office of Well-Being. The office will focus on the development of well-being programs that address the many stresses faced by clinicians, health professionals, faculty, and staff across our clinical, research, and educational mission.
In keeping with our constructive culture strategy, the office will work to prioritize and promote wellness and professional fulfillment for all. The office will initially be led by co-chief well-being officers and current Emory faculty members Tim Cunningham, RN, DrPH, and Chad Ritenour, MD, and I have great confidence that they will make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of all members of our team.
One of the key lessons we’ve learned from the COVID-19 pandemic is the crucial importance of focusing on and investing in our greatest resource—our people. We’re committed to making sure our teams are empowered, supported, and equipped with the tools they need to move us forward in every aspect of health, healing, and public service. After all, the best way to care for the people we serve is to begin by caring for ourselves and each other.
Please review the news release for additional details and thank you for all that you do to help us improve lives and provide hope.
Warm regards, Jon
