IMPACT
Healing on the homefront
At Emory, veterans are a valued and vital part of our community. As the university prepares for the 2018 Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 12, explore how Emory supports veterans through innovative health care, legal aid, education benefits and more.

HEALTH
Instant soups pose risk for scald burns in children
Microwavable instant soup and noodle products cause nearly 10,000 scald burns each year -- nearly one out of every five such burns that send children to emergency rooms each year, according to Emory researchers.

EVENTS
10 things to do for $10 or less
Visit the Emory Farmers Market for unique treats for your Thanksgiving feast, view some of Hitchcock's best films, and commemorate the 200th birthday of Frederick Douglass with Oscar-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. plus one of Douglass' direct descendants.

PERSPECTIVE
Talk focuses on Irish poet Seamus Heaney, teaching with archives
Professor Geraldine Higgins speaks Wednesday in the Rose Library on the critically acclaimed, multisensory exhibition "Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again" that she curated in Ireland — and how she is using that experience in the classroom.

CAMPUS

On Thursday, Nov. 8, the campus community is invited to stop by 11 EmoryThanks locations, including the main station at Asbury Circle, to write notes and take photos and videos thanking donors for their support.
