As summer winds down and school routines begin, take advantage of these Emory benefits and resources that can help make the transition a little easier.
1. Childcare support and financial assistance
Employees seeking childcare can explore Emory’s partnerships through the Emory Child Care Network, which offers high-quality care options close to work or home. Income-eligible Emory employees may qualify for Emory’s Child Care Subsidy Program. The subsidy is available at Primrose School at Emory Northlake, the Clifton Schools and Early Emory Inclusive Preschool.
For personalized assistance, Emory University employees can contact the Work Life team. Emory Healthcare employees can connect with Revive and Thrive or other work-life benefits for childcare referrals, after-school care resources, and help identifying vetted providers that meet their family's needs.
2. Money-saving discounts and family benefits
Explore savings available through Emory’s Savings Marketplace for discounts on everyday purchases and seasonal needs. Employees will also find savings on memberships to wholesale retailers, making it easier to stock up on school supplies and household essentials while stretching their budget:
Contributing to the Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Account allows eligible employees to set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified childcare expenses. Employees who are single or married filing jointly can contribute up to $7,500 annually, while those who are married and filing separately can contribute up to $3,750 annually. Register during annual benefits enrollment later this fall to contribute in 2027.
Don’t forget about another valuable savings opportunity: preventive care. Annual physicals, wellness visits and recommended immunizations for covered family members are included under Emory’s medical plans, helping families stay healthy while avoiding many out-of-pocket preventive care costs.
3. Parenting and family resources
Every school year brings new challenges, from helping a child adjust to a new classroom to navigating the teenage years.
Take advantage of family-focused resources, including Peace at Home Parenting programs for university employees and a Maven webinar focused on healthy screen-time habits for children and teens. The webinar is open to all employees and takes place Tuesday, Aug. 25.
- Emory University employees can find more events on the Healthy Emory Calendar.
Emory Healthcare employees can find more events on the Staff Calendar.
4. Emotional support for the entire family
Adjusting to a new school year can be challenging for both children and parents. Employees and eligible family members can access support through the Faculty Staff Assistance Program (Emory University) and Revive and Thrive (Emory Healthcare).
These services provide consultations, emotional support and referrals to community resources when additional assistance is needed. From managing a major transition to navigating academic stress or everyday challenges, these programs can help connect employees with appropriate support and resources.
