Juanita Womack named assistant vice provost and university registrar

Juanita Womack, an accomplished enrollment management leader, was named assistant vice provost and university registrar, effective July 20, 2026.
Womack brings more than 24 years of higher education experience with leadership roles in both academic affairs and enrollment management. Throughout her career, she has served as university registrar, interim registrar and associate registrar at multiple institutions, overseeing registrar office operations while partnering closely with academic deans and department chairs, financial aid professionals, academic information systems teams and other university administrators to provide excellent service to students and the broader university community.
As the assistant vice provost and university registrar, Womack provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Office of the University Registrar, serving as Emory’s academic records officer and a key member of the enrollment leadership team. This role is responsible for the integrity of student academic records, university wide registration and graduation processes, curriculum and catalog administration, transcript and verification processes and student information systems that support Emory’s academic mission across all schools and colleges.
Prior to joining Emory, Womack held higher education admissions and enrollment management positions at American University in Washington, D.C.; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York; Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland.
“Juanita brings vast expertise in enrollment management from multiple higher education institutions,” says John Leach, vice provost for Enrollment, Student Financial Services and Registration. “Her experience refining business operations, growing and leading teams and overseeing complex, university-wide software transitions will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the systems and processes that support Emory’s students and the broader university community.”
Womack is pursuing a Doctor of Education in organizational leadership at Franklin University, with anticipated completion in August 2026, and holds a Master of Business Administration from Eastern University and a Master of Science in higher education leadership with a specialization in enrollment management from Walden University.
Womack will work closely with Associate Vice Provost JoAnn McKenzie, who plans to retire no later than December 2027.
