Emory Nursing’s Rodriguez named Fellow of American Association of Nurse Practitioners

ATLANTA – Jeannie Rodriguez, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC, CHSE, FAANP, associate clinical professor at the Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Rodriguez was one of 59 nurse practitioner (NP) leaders across the U.S. installed as Fellows on June 25 during the organization’s annual conference. She joins a diverse group of nurse practitioners recognized for contributions to national and global health. Leaders in NP education, policy, clinical practice and research, Fellows volunteer their expertise as reviewers, topical experts, committee members, journal contributors and mentors.
An experienced clinical scientist, Rodriguez studies how environmental exposures influence children’s health, with current work focused on secondhand electronic cigarette vapor. She has nearly 30 years of experience as a pediatric nurse and more than 20 years as a pediatric NP, currently providing community‑based health care through partnerships with local schools.
At Emory, she leads the pediatric primary care nurse practitioner program and serves as the assistant dean of faculty advancement. Her teaching focus is on clinical preparation and pediatric simulation for advanced practice registered nurse students, and she serves as co-chair of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties’ Simulation Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing from Emory University and a PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
