Staff Fest returns on Friday, May 15, to thank Emory University staff for their hard work throughout the academic year. Held each year on the Friday after Commencement, Staff Fest activities take place from 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m. on the Quad. Interim President Leah Ward Sears will address the crowd at noon.

The friendly-but-fierce volleyball tournament will kick off at 11 a.m. on the Quad. Teams participating in Chalk the Walk can start as early as 9 a.m. and must be finished by noon. Staff can also take on colleagues in field games like relay races and enjoy the DJ and dancing.

In honor of Atlanta’s role as a host city for the World Cup, Staff Fest will also feature several soccer-themed activities and experiences. Stop by the Woodruff Library or the Michael C. Carlos Museum to see the Footwork exhibits, take a photo with the official 2018 MLS Cup trophy and enter a raffle to win prizes — including Atlanta United tickets and autographed soccer-themed merchandise.

If you purchased a Staff Fest T-shirt and selected the Quad as your pick-up location, stop by the T-shirt tent between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to get your shirt. Forgot to place your order? A limited number of T-shirts will be sold at the tent for $11 (cash or check only).

A free, catered lunch by Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q starts at 11:30 a.m. and continues while quantities last. The menu includes chopped chicken, pulled pork and black bean burgers with sides of baked beans (no pork), potato salad and cookies. There will also be ice cream stations throughout the Quad.

Please note that Staff Fest is for current Emory University staff, faculty and retirees only. Family members or non-university employees are not able to be accommodated. Please bring your Emory University badge when you come to enjoy the festivities.

Staff Fest partners with the Emory Office of Sustainability Initiatives to make this event as sustainable as possible. All attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own water bottle to the event. Water refill stations are available in buildings surrounding the Quad. Aluminum cans of Smartwater will be available, thanks to a grant from the Office of Sustainability Initiatives in support of Emory's "Break Free From Plastic" pledge.

Special thanks to Coca-Cola for their generous donation of Coca-Cola products, and to the many volunteers across campus who help make Staff Fest happen.
