After claiming the University Athletic Association championship, the Emory Eagles men’s basketball team won both of their games in the NCAA Division III opening rounds to advance to the Sweet 16. Their next game will take place Friday, March 13, on campus.

The Eagles began NCAA tournament play Friday night at the Woodruff PE Center against MUW. Both teams stepped on the court with seven-game winning streaks, which Emory extended with an 87-73 victory.

Game two on Saturday night also went to the Eagles in a dramatic overtime win against Roanoke. Junior Ethan Fauss sank a three-pointer with less than 10 seconds left in overtime play, then made the game-clinching block on a three-point attempt by Roanoke. The final score was 83-81.

Emory will remain home for the Sweet 16 as the Eagles will welcome Yeshiva University to the Woodruff PE Center on Friday, March 13, for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
