Emory University adopts Qualtrics as its new online survey tool
February 7, 2024 Emory Office of Information Technology
As part of its commitment to provide faculty, students and staff with state-of-the-art resources and tools, Emory’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) is implementing Qualtrics CoreXM as the university’s official online survey tool.
Qualtrics is a widely recognized and highly versatile survey platform trusted by organizations across the globe.
The enterprise-wide shift to Qualtrics (primarily replacing SurveyMonkey) expands the university’s capabilities in research, feedback collection and data analysis.
Transitioning to Qualtrics
With robust features and a user-friendly interface, Qualtrics empowers users to create, distribute and analyze surveys with ease. This move to Qualtrics will facilitate a seamless and efficient survey process for students, faculty and staff.
SurveyMonkey is being phased out across the university enterprise for budgetary reasons. OIT also encourages discontinuing the use of other survey tools (such as Google Forms, SurveySparrow, Typeform, Alchemer, Qualaroo and Hubspot) as part of the transition to Qualtrics.
Consolidating into one survey tool maximizes cost savings, reduces the university’s security footprint, ensures consistency and creates a more unified experience for all survey creators and participants.
Knowledge articles and training sessions are available to assist users in mastering Qualtrics, such as navigating the new platform or migrating existing surveys from SurveyMonkey to Qualtrics.
Here’s how to get started with Qualtrics:
- Faculty, students and staff interested in using Qualtrics can access the platform on the university’s Qualtrics webpage.
- Free training on how to use Qualtrics is available through Basecamp. Create a new personal account to complete the training.
- Explore knowledge articles at KB07456 (user guide) and KB07458 (how to migrate from SurveyMonkey) for more detailed information. Visit the IT Service Management page and search for the article number.
- For additional help creating surveys after completing the Basecamp training, contact the Emory University Service Desk (404-727-7777) or email Qualtrics_support@emory.edu.
Qualtrics is available for use, so faculty, students and staff can begin the transition now.
