Woodruff PE Center was filled with excitement Aug. 24, as first-year students competed in Songfest, a beloved Emory tradition where students from each residence hall perform an original song about their new home.

Judged by Emory administrators, the competition is fierce but friendly, and practicing and performing together is a great way for students to start making friends in their residence halls.

Dooley, the university's skeletal spirit of misrule, was on hand to enjoy the competition.

This year's winner is Eagle Hall, with Turmilton (the combined name for Turman and Hamilton Holmes residence halls) placing as first runner-up.

Raoul Hall won the T-shirt contest and Alabama and Dobbs Halls (also known as Aladobbs) won the banner contest.
