Canvas experienced nationwide security breach |

Instructure, the company behind the learning management system Canvas, experienced a cyberattack last week. Canvas is used by thousands of schools and colleges nationwide, including Emory University. The incident is not impacting Emory classes or any end of the year activities. It is isolated to Instructure's environment. Emory Enterprise Security will continue to monitor the situation and will share additional information as details become available. Instructure is investigating the incident to understand the impact. The company created a status page to provide updates. |

Rewards Come kick it on the Quad for Staff Fest 2026The 48th Annual Staff Fest returns to the Quad on Friday, May 15, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. University staff members are invited to join colleagues from across campus for an afternoon of free food, music, games and connection. Take part in favorite traditions like Chalk the Walk, the volleyball tournament and raffle giveaways. Volunteers are also needed to support activities such as T-shirt distribution, food lines and sustainability efforts — helping make this year’s Staff Fest a memorable experience for everyone. |

Recognition 15 staff members honored with Emory’s Award of DistinctionEmory University celebrated the Award of Distinction honorees on April 14, recognizing 15 university staff members. The highest award available for staff, the Award of Distinction — which began in 1985 — recognizes employees for their outstanding contributions to the Emory community. |

Benefit New program to help lower specialty infusion medication costsYour Aetna-administered health plan introduced PrudentMed on May 1, in collaboration with its parent company, PrudentRx. PrudentMed is designed to help reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket costs for eligible specialty infusion medications administered by a health care provider. Eligible employees enrolled in the Aetna POS plan will be contacted by phone to enroll. |
