Join the Emory Gate Crossing + Coke Toast on Aug. 26 |

Help welcome the Class of 2028 for Emory College of Arts and Sciences at this special event on Aug. 26. Faculty, staff, fellow students and alumni are invited to gather at the Emory Gate at 10 a.m. to cheer as students walk through the Emory gate and proceed to the Quad. Once there, they will participate in their very first Coke Toast. The event will conclude at 11 a.m. Oxford first-year students will also have a Coke Toast on their campus Friday, Aug. 23. | |

Impact 10 years after Ebola: Looking back at a milestone in patient care at EmoryTen years ago today, the first Ebola patient treated in the United States was discharged from Emory University Hospital. American missionary Dr. Kent Brantly contracted the illness while treating patients in Liberia. Emory’s decision to care for Brantly and other patients with Ebola virus disease propelled the university into the international spotlight and began a journey of clinical treatment, research and education that continues to this day. Look back at the emotional press conference where Brantly thanked the Emory team for caring for him “with expertise, yet with tenderness and compassion.” |
