Hello, Emory!Events honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. began during the weekend and will continue through the end of January. Check out our calendar below and read more about everything happening in recognition of Emory King Week 2023. There are plenty of additional activities to enjoy during January, from book club readings to musical performances to cheering on the Emory Eagles. Read about some of our favorites and find ways to enjoy the week despite the forecasted rain. |
Community Emory takes a ‘Day On’ instead of a day offOn Jan. 16, more than 150 members of the Emory community participated in nine different volunteer projects to honor the life, work and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As a vital part of Emory’s King Week observance, the Day On Day of Service offers an opportunity for Emory community members to serve the common good. The Emory community is focused on its King Week celebration this week, but many other events also are happening throughout January. One highlight will be a free concert celebrating Lunar New Year on Sunday, Jan. 22, with the Vega Quartet. The performance will be at 4 p.m. in Ackerman Hall of the Carlos Museum. Learn the details about the concert and other January activities including dance, sports, conversations and more. |
